Legal & HR Executive (International) | Colombo

Seeking a dynamic and experienced candidate to join our Team in Colombo as a Legal & HR Executive. We are a British Holding Company with various specialist healthcare ventures in the UK.

This is a dual role:

To assist we offer: Latest Apple Mac, Setup a home office for you, Mobile with UK local number, full access to AI (artificial intelligence) software for research, precedence, legal drafting, analysing, etc, Ms-Office, access to Peninsular HR Consultancy and Lawyers (https://www.peninsulagrouplimited.com/), access to various Solicitors and Mid-Tier Chartered Accountants & Corporate Finance Companies we use, access to UK Lawyers. Last but not least, AI for Outlook emails !

Part A

  • Build Out our HR Department in Colombo (hire, train and manage a team of 3 HR professionals), we are hiring an additional 40 members of staff over the next 6 months in the UK to work in the UK
  • Steer our outsourced marketing and web developers to create impact web sites and highly visual FB, LinkedIn, Tick-Tok campaigns.
  • Review all our internal HR documentation, process map them (resource will be allocated), create our internal functional HR hiring and management system.
  • Design, build and implement a quantitative employee engagement culture supporting our existing 100+ overseas employees
  • Contract negotiations with Overseas Employees (Sri Lankan, Indian, Eastern European) who we sponsor to work in the UK (Yes, we have our own allocation of 5 year UK Work Permits)
  • Responsibility of: Onboarding, Retention, Employment Contract Negotiations, Policies, Background Check, etc

Part B (working with our UK & European Subject Matter Experts)

  • Review company legal matters (day to day matters)
  • Review Share Sale Agreements
  • Sweat Equity Transactions
  • International Tax
  • Compliance with UK regulations and Health & Safety
  • Corporate matters (acquisition and disposal of assets)
  • Financial related legal matters
  • Provide inhouse legal advice
  • Liaise with external legal counsel (UK, Sri Lanka, India and European)

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • LLB from a UK University, Attorney-at-law
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in same or similar role
  • Possession exceptional communication skills - Good English is a Must
