Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Tea Trade & Global Sales Manager to join our clients team in Kenya.

The successful candidate will be responsible for market research, supplier negotiations, quality control, trading strategies, and overseeing logistics and compliance for our tea exports. This role requires a deep understanding of the global tea market, excellent negotiation skills, and international sales experience.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and prices.

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure quality tea at competitive prices.
  • Analyze supply and demand factors affecting the tea market.
  • Assess and ensure the quality of tea through sensory evaluation and testing.
  • Develop and implement global trading strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Manage buying and selling of tea on various trading platforms.
  • Identify new business opportunities and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Customize sales and marketing strategies to achieve export sales targets.
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis to senior management.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop value-added products and tools to enhance export sales.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and systems, including the ERP system.
  • Manage the sales budget and P&L accounts of exported products.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for the sales team.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the company

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Food Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the FMCG or tea industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Tea Tasting and Grading skills.
  • Proficiency in using trading platforms and supply chain management software.
