Position: Head of IT

Job Description:

As the Head of IT, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Information Technology department within the organization. You will lead a team of IT professionals and work closely with other departments to ensure the efficient and effective use of technology to support the company's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the IT strategy aligned with the organization's overall business objectives. Identify opportunities for leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  2. Team Management: Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  3. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring the optimal allocation of resources to meet project and operational requirements. Monitor and control expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness and return on investment.
  4. Infrastructure and Systems Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and software applications. Ensure the availability, security, and reliability of IT systems and services.
  5. IT Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry best practices, and security protocols. Monitor and mitigate IT risks and vulnerabilities.
  6. Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers. Negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and ensure the delivery of quality products and services.
  7. IT Project Management: Plan, execute, and monitor IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management.
  8. User Support and Training: Oversee the IT help desk function, ensuring timely and effective resolution of user issues and inquiries. Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employees' IT skills and knowledge.
  9. Technology Evaluation and Adoption: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for their adoption based on their potential to improve business operations and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, preferably as a Head of IT or IT Director.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and software applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound understanding of IT governance, compliance, and security frameworks.
  • Project management experience and familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
