Responsibilities:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle database software and related tools.
- Creating and managing database instances, schemas, tables, and other database objects.
- Monitoring and optimizing database performance, including tuning SQL queries and optimizing database parameters.
- Implementing and managing database security measures, such as user access control, data encryption, and backup and recovery procedures.
- Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, including diagnosing and resolving database errors and performance bottlenecks.
- Planning and implementing database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Collaborating with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration and operation of database systems.
- Conducting database capacity planning and resource forecasting to ensure scalability and efficient resource utilization.
- Keeping abreast of the latest Oracle database technologies, trends, and best practices, and providing recommendations for improvements.
- Documenting database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, concepts, and administration tasks.
- Proficiency in installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle database software.
- Experience with database monitoring and performance tuning techniques.
- Familiarity with database security principles and best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures and tools, including Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN).
- Understanding of SQL and PL/SQL programming languages.
- Familiarity with Oracle database tools, such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and SQL*Plus.
- Experience in implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as Oracle Data Guard or Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant certifications, such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE), are often preferred.
