Job Description:
Scope: The Level 3 Wintel System Engineer with Azure experience will be a senior member of the IT team responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of Windows-based systems and infrastructure with a strong focus on Azure cloud services. This role will involve collaborating with cross- functional teams, troubleshooting complex issues, and providing expert-level support for critical business applications.
Key Responsibilities:
System Design and Azure Integration:
• Experience in Windows / AD / DNS / DHCP / WSUS / SCCM / Windows backup
• Experience in Azure administration
• Experience in Office 365 administration
• Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting skills of Windows Server (2012 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022)
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues including back bone infrastructure issues
• Design, plan and implement Windows-based systems with a deep understanding of Azure cloud services
• Deploy and configure servers, virtual machines, and related components in Azure environment
• Ability to handle Server’s vulnerabilities
• Advance Knowledge on Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (configMgr)
• Knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell
Infrastructure Maintenance and Azure Optimization:
• Perform regular system maintenance, including updates, patches, and security configurations for both on-premises and Azure-based systems
• Monitor system performance in Azure and on-premises environments and make recommendations for improvements
• Implement backup and recovery strategies in Azure and ensure data integrity and availability
Troubleshooting and Support:
• Strong troubleshooting / problem solving skills with familiarity with system monitoring, management and diagnostic tools
• Experience of hybrid environments, especially Azure
• Provide advanced technical support for Windows-based systems and Azure-related services and applications
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to server, network and storage infrastructure in both on-premises and Azure environments
• Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support teams to resolve escalated incidents
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for both on-premises and Azure environments
• Share expertise and knowledge with junior team members through mentoring and training
Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Windows-based systems and infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Azure cloud services
• Expertise in Windows Server operating systems (2019), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and related technologies
• Strong experience with Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking and Azure Storage
• Proficiency in scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Azure CLI, etc.)
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus
Mandatory Skills:
• Experience in Windows / AD / DNS / DHCP / WSUS / SCCM / Windows backup
• Experience in Azure & O365 Administration
• Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Windows Server (2012 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022)
• Strong troubleshooting / problem solving skills with familiarity with system monitoring and diagnostic tools
• Experience in System Maintenance, Patching & Security Configurations
• Experience using Virtual Environments (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Proficiency in scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Azure CLI, etc.) (Good to have)
• Experience in Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (Good to have)
