2. Technical Lead/Technical Specialist / SSE – Specialised in Backend development with NodeJS

A key architectural / engineering role in the project lifecycle working closely with lead architect and the team. Responsible for specialist and/or complex software engineering tasks in a project team setting. Individual will be required to work with dynamic teams that are driven by project delivery goals. Individual has to be a representative for the proper adoption of software development methods and technologies. Should possess the drive to learn and continuously improve on work performances. Helps and guides the team of engineers towards building quality software products. All individuals will be required to participate in periodic appraisal cycles to evaluate and determine advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for software designs under the direction from Architect and clearly understand and defend trade-offs made.
• Provides realistic and accurate estimates and achieve on-time Delivery.

· Makes optimum utilisation of engineering tools and technologies to maintain a high productivity level in the team

• Ensures that code artefacts produced are of the highest quality, conforming to set or agreed upon standard. Should advocate such consistency to all members of the team.
• Builds competencies in product and technology domain·

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Computing or Information Technology, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or a specialisation in the Software Engineering

· Minimum five (5) years of experience in software engineering, design and architecture

• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in, React AND/OR NodeJS
• Java and cloud application development using AWS added advantage
• Strong knowledge and experience in Frontend Technologies and related frameworks (HTML / CSS / JavaScript/JSON ) AND/OR Backend Technologies and API development
• A good understanding of Software Engineering Best Practices and ability to define and drive this within the teams
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in Agile software development practices such SCRUM
