Designation: Team Lead - Group Accounting

Location: Colombo

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company’s accounting records and financial systems.
• Responsibility for all journals and final GL balances including review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts.
• Review of all Inventory Ledgers and ensure all the balances are reconciled
• Ensure all bank transactions are recorded timely and weekly bank reconciliations
• Collaborate with Management and other team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks
• Perform duties as the central finance unit to selected business units
• Introducing best practices, procedures, and policies
• Accurate computation and o time payment and filling of all statutory dues (VAT, SVAT, GST, WHT, EPF, ETF etc.)
• Assist finance managers in completion of statutory audits timely and filling of tax returns timely
• Preparation and/or assist Finance Managers in preparation of timely and filling of tax returns timely
• Assist in development and design of financial reports
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll of selected business units
• Identification of process improvements and assisting the implementation of these improvements
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers, suppliers, bankers, and other parties.
• Ensure the group finance is kept informed of Industry developments, which are relevant to the operation of an efficient finance function
• Other duties as directed by management within the limits of the employee’s skill base

Key Requirements

• 3 + years of experience in senior accounting/ finance role
• Strong analytical skills
• Knowledge in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Power BI
• Excellent planning, organizing, leadership, and communication skills
• Understanding business process across different business industries
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Experience in leading a team
• Experience in Microsoft Dynamics ERP would be an added advantage
• CA,CIMA,ACCA (Fully or partly qualified / bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
