Key Responsibilities

• Working with other SharePoint administrators you will be responsible for your own farm(s) and it is your responsibility to ensure that these farm(s) are: Responsive,24/7 Available, Maintained, Secure, Backed Up, Compliant i.e. patched, and Search configuration.
• Works closely with the infrastructure team to solve issues relating to the following: Network Issue ,Hardware Issues, Load Balancing, IIS & Windows Server (virtual), Backups, SQL Issue ,Encryption, security zones and firewalls.
• · Performing maintenance of the SharePoint platform &servers.
• · Experience of SharePoint patching is essential. Zero down time patching if possible.
• · Installing the SharePoint platform, integrating application.
• · PowerShell Scripting.
• · Documentation. Clearly document the topology of each SharePoint farm for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• · Troubleshooting and resolving SharePoint issues or malfunctions.
• · Work as a 2nd line support team member.
• · Performing data retrieval and backup procedures to prevent data loss.
• · Ensuring sufficient storage space by performing clean-ups and archiving data.
• · Reviewing usage and activity reports and making adjustments to ensure optimized user experiences.

Non-Technical

• Takes technical responsibility for all SharePoint Environments. Peer review changes and custom development.
• Provides advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.
• Provides technical advice to other members of the team and ensures that solutions meet prevailing standards.
• Works to avoid and remove technical debt.
• Works with Application Support Analysts to Investigate, establish root cause and remediate operational incidents.
• Investigates operational needs and problems, and opportunities, contributing to the recommendation of improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes and organisation

Key Requirements

Minimum bachelor's degree o commensurate experience required with emphasis in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems Management.

Desirable - MCSE SharePoint qualification

Detailed knowledge of Microsoft’s best practices when building SharePoint farms. Having over 4 years of experience in this role is a requirement.

Knowledge of SharePoint tools, including ULS Logs, workflows, and SharePoint forms for tasks

Knowledge of backup and restore tools that can be used at all levels and an understanding of how this is used to give our environments high availability.

Desirable (but not essential)

· Nintex Experience.

· AvePoint Experience.

· Externalising Farms via forms-based Authentication.

· Office 365.

· Experience of working in an agile environment with SCRUM.

· Knowledge of one or more formal development methodologies.

· Understanding, analysis & interpretation of Data.

· Effective Communication, including the ability to explain technical information to non-technical people.

· Site Core Experience.
