A technology company based out of North America with a mission to help hotels drive operational efficiencies through innovation and advanced technologies delivering an end-to-end hospitality information management platform.

Their core product is a cloud-based information management platform that brings together data from multiple hotel systems, enabling hospitality professionals to access their hotel data from one place and in real-time, thus, helping hotel owners, operators, franchisees and hospitality REITs automate the hotel back office and manage property portfolio performance to a tee.

Responsibilities

• Analyze & monitor existing infrastructure, provide suggestions to improve problem areas.
• Drive data migrations to UAT and Production, identify how to prepare the next environment with required dependencies prior to deployment.
• Extend existing data pipelines with FiveTran and AWS Glue.
• Manage in-flight data transformations from MS SQL database to Postgresql database
• Develop databases from the designs provided by the Data lead.
• Performance tuning of database systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
• Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
• Create automation for repeating database tasks.
• Migrate test and actual data to development, UAT and production environments from legacy production databases.
• Be available on call during critical releases and disaster recovery scenarios.

Qualifications

Data

• 3+ years of experience maintaining & monitoring database hosting, infrastructure, costs.
• 3+ years working with PostgreSQL Databases & psql, ideally within a managed cloud setting (AWS RDS, GCP, Azure).
• 3+ years working experience with MSSQL Database.
• 3+ years of experience with data design, development & optimization.
• 3+ years working with SQL and PL/pgSQL .
• 3+ years working with NoSQL Databases.

Data Automation

• 3+ years working with data pipelines & continuous data syncing.
• 3+ years of experience working with automated data solutions (code first data approach).

Agile

• 3+ years of experience working in an agile software development environment, leveraging scrum or kanban.
• 3+ years of experience working with git and open source development.

Nice to haves

• Familiarity with FiveTran, AWS Glue or a similar data pipeline tool.
• Familiarity with AWS RDS, Aurora, Atlas.
• Familiarity with React.
• Familiarity with Node.js & GraphQL.
• Familiarity with GCP, Azure and other major cloud providers.
