- Experience working in a Product Owner / Business Analyst capacity for a software product.
- Experience working on large scale / enterprise-grade software products and deep knowledge of the product development lifecycle.
- Good software engineering acumen and some technical background.
- Good understanding of the Agile development model - scrum roles, ceremonies and artefacts. (CSPO certification is good to have)
- Excellent cross-functional communication and convincing skills both internal and external. Excellent written and presentation skills.
- Ability to drive ideas/concepts of product development from concept to the final product.
- Close experience of effectively working with stakeholders and software development teams.
- Adaptability working in a dynamic environment staying well organised with an ability to prioritise effectively.
- Ability to analyse data, situations and develop an appropriate range of solutions.
- Must be a decisive, action-orientated individual with an ability to work using own initiative with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to travel across India, UK and internationally as and when the business requires
Responsibilities
- Engage with internal stakeholders to understand and clearly document business needs
- Ensure business requirements are clearly translated into high-quality user stories for scrum teams
- Act as the Product Owner within a scrum team (on behalf of the Product Manager) to deliver enhancements and new developments as required by the organisation’s product strategy and delivery programme
- Assist in managing stakeholder expectations and project perceptions
- Identify the stakeholders for each piece of work undertaken
- Understand stakeholder perspectives
- Provide information to stakeholders, appropriate to their needs
- Use appropriate elicitation methods to identify the business requirements for each piece of work undertaken
- Use appropriate methods to analyse the requirements
- Validate the requirements with stakeholders (including Product Management, architects, UX / UI experts, scrum team members and customer-facing parts of)
- Support Product Management for the planning process
- Define features and obtain sizing from the scrum team
- Define user stories for the features
- Manage the product backlog for the scrum team you are working with
- Ensure the backlog is refined with sufficient sprint ready user stories for the next sprint planning session
- Attend all Scrum ceremonies as part of the scrum team
- Provide progress reporting to stakeholders as required
- Communicate to stakeholders on behalf of the scrum team as required.
- Present the areas of the system to the wider community and support customer-facing colleagues in these areas.
- Provide release content notes to support wider internal and external communication on what has been delivered.
