Job description : Delivery Agent

The delivery Agent ensures the transport and delivery of all kinds of parcels. He spends a large part of the day on the road and must deliver a maximum of customers in a minimum of time. The delivery agent mixes patience and speed to make his deliveries safely. He must make deliveries on time to customers. His radius of action can extend up to 100 km from the point of attachment and generally uses a light vehicle (two- or three-wheeled motorcycle, vehicle under 3.5 tons) for his deliveries.

SKILLS AND QUALITIES :

• Have good physical capacity: Physically enduring, it must be able to handle loads (heavy or light).
• Have a sense of organization: He watches over the goods during loading and delivery time and organizes his tour taking into account the traffic hours and the closing hours of the companies. In the absence of a road map, he is able to organize himself.
• Be punctual: Good sense of direction to always be on time. Ability to manage your time. But also to anticipate possible delays.
• Have a good sense of relationship with customers: At the delivery, the delivery driver represents the image of his company. Even if he works alone all day long, he is in contact with the customers and must be at the same time friendly, sympathetic and cheerful with them. He has to deal with dissatisfied customers tactfully.
• Know how to manage stress : He knows how to resist stress and be patient in traffic jams. And in all cases, he scrupulously respects the traffic rules.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DELIVERY AGENT :

• Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
• Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
• Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
• Accepting payments for delivered items.
• Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients.
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
• Comply with all transportation laws
• Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
• Follow the maintenance and updating of the administrative file of his motorcycle or car
• Be available to carry out any other task assigned to him/her by his/her hierarchy

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Ability to walk, drive, lift and carry heavy objects for long periods of time.
• Have a good knowledge of safe driving rules.
• Ability to anticipate traffic problems in the city and manage stress while driving or riding.
• Hold an A and B driver's license.
• Knowledge in car maintenance
