Miller’s Guest House has opened the position for Laundry Attendant. The first thing we look for is a positive attitude that aligns with our approach to hospitality. Once you’re that person we also need you to know the following.
Duties:
Collect soiled linen, towels and other articles as assigned
Sort articles according to color, fabric, cleaning procedure and assigned equipment
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools
Inspect all cleaned articles to ensure that they are thoroughly cleaned, ironed and folded
Maintain linen room supplies and equipment, as required
Report any damaged, torn or worn linens to the supervisor immediately
Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures
Responsibilities:
Provide prompt and courteous service to all guests
Prioritize workload based on demand
Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
Ensure that all linen is properly stored and secured
Handle all laundry with care to prevent damage
Notify management immediately of any inventory shortages or necessary repairs
Attend all safety and training sessions as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Secondary Education or equivalent
Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role preferred
Ability to operate laundry and cleaning equipment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Must be able to work with changing technology
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
