Project Coordinator - Automotive

Description

This role will coordinate the rollout of a new line of business in the automotive and engineering sector. You will be responsible for doing market research, helping to define the business strategy, executing the go to market, and managing the relationships with key project stakeholders such as vendors, industry partners. Our corporate culture will leave a lot of pace for creativity, experimentation and execution. This role has flexibility in working hours and will be a hybrid role, with at least 40% of the days being remote. You will be working closely with the CEO on a day-to-day basis. The role will require you to occasionally travel to on-site locations within Sri Lanka and rarely outside Sri Lanka.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out early market research and build business plans
  • Translate approved business plans to strategy documentation
  • Work with key stakeholders to get alignment on the forward looking strategy
  • Liaise with vendors and stakeholders to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information required for the execution of the strategy
  • Break projects into easy to digest smaller milestones with clear timelines
  • Assign tasks to internal teams, vendors and stakeholders
  • Make sure stakeholder needs are met as projects evolve
  • Build and manage a project budget
  • Analyze risks and opportunities of the project
  • Oversee procurement requirements of the project
  • Coordinate legal requirements and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
  • Work with the CEO to eliminate blockers
  • Use tools to monitor resource allocation, KPIs, revenues, margin and expenditures
  • Handle all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g. contracts and purchase orders) with our legal counsel
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
  • Ensure standards and requirements are met through field inspections, testing and other quality assurance workstreams

Requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role
  • Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
  • Experience managing a budget and execution plan
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Docs, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel and communications tools like Slack/Microsoft Teams
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g. Basecamp or Trello) will be a plus
  • Good understanding of financial and business concepts
  • Strong command of the english language will be a plus
  • Industry experience with technical industries, mechanical engineering or automotive engineering will be a strong advantage
