Job Description:

A Social Media Intern will support the organization's digital marketing efforts and online presence, working closely under the guidance of senior marketing staff. The intern will assist in implementing social media strategies to enhance brand visibility, engage with the target audience, and contribute to online marketing goals. This position is ideal for individuals with a foundational understanding of social media platforms, content creation, and analytics, seeking to develop their skills in a practical, hands-on environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support in Social Media Strategy Development: Assist in the development and execution of social media strategies aligned with marketing goals. Help identify target audiences and the most suitable platforms for engagement under senior staff supervision.
  • Content Creation and Management: Assist in creating and curating content for various social media platforms. Support scheduling and publishing content consistently, ensuring it aligns with the brand’s tone and guidelines.
  • Community Engagement: Monitor social media channels for customer comments, messages, and mentions. Engage with the online community to build positive relationships, escalating issues to senior executives when necessary.
  • Campaign Support: Help in planning and executing social media advertising campaigns. Assist in monitoring campaign performance and optimizing ad budgets under senior staff guidance.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Learn to track and analyze social media performance using tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and others. Assist in preparing reports, providing insights, and offering recommendations for future strategies.
  • Competitive Analysis: Support the monitoring of industry trends and competitor activities on social media.
  • Collaboration: Work with the marketing team and other departments to support broader marketing initiatives. Collaborate with graphic designers, content writers, and other team members to create multimedia content.
  • Crisis Management Support: Assist in managing responses to negative comments and controversies on social media under senior guidance.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with updates, algorithms, and emerging trends on social media platforms. Continuously strive to improve skills and knowledge in digital marketing.
  • Budget Assistance: Support managing the budget for social media campaigns and promotions under senior supervision.
  • Influencer Collaboration Support: Assist in identifying and reaching out to social media influencers under senior staff guidance.
  • Compliance and Legal Regulations: Ensure content and activities comply with legal and industry regulations, under senior supervision. Support issues related to data protection and privacy.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Some experience or internships in social media marketing preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and their best practices.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools.
  • Creative thinking and eagerness to learn about the latest digital marketing trends.
  • Analytical skills to help interpret data and provide insights.
  • Ability to handle feedback with professionalism.
  • Basic understanding of budget management.
