The Role & Responsibilities:

Leading a trade marketing team involves overseeing and coordinating various aspects to ensure effective execution of marketing strategies within the retail environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Team Leadership: Providing clear direction, guidance, and support to the trade marketing team members to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  2. Strategy Development: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive trade marketing strategies that drive product visibility, increase sales, and enhance brand presence in retail channels.
  3. Campaign Planning and Execution: Planning and executing trade marketing campaigns, promotions, and activities to drive consumer engagement, boost sales, and achieve targets.
  4. Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with retail partners, distributors, and key stakeholders to negotiate favourable terms, secure optimal shelf placements, and maximize product visibility.
  5. Performance Monitoring: Monitoring the performance of trade marketing initiatives, analysing data, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.
  6. Budget Management: Managing trade marketing budgets effectively, allocating resources efficiently, and ensuring that campaigns are delivered within allocated budgetary constraints.
  7. Talent Development: Identifying training and development needs within the team, providing coaching and mentoring, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborating with internal departments such as sales, product development, supply chain, and marketing to align trade marketing activities with overall business objectives and ensure seamless execution.
