Job Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Nurse to join our newly established Elder's Home in Malabe. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality nursing care, support daily medical needs, and respond to emergencies, working closely with our in-house doctor and care team to ensure optimal resident well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive nursing care including phlebotomy, medication administration, wound care, and assistance with daily living activities.
- Psychological Support: Promote mental and emotional well-being through compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Care Planning: Implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Coordinate with hospitals, pharmacies, and specialists as needed.
- Health Assessments: Conduct regular health checks, identify signs of deterioration, and provide first-line medical support before escalation to a doctor.
- Documentation & Organization: Maintain accurate, legally compliant medical records. Document care plans, treatments, and progress while managing time effectively across multiple residents.
- Family & Caregiver Communication: Engage with families, educate them on health conditions, and guide caregivers on elderly care and infection control.
- Education & Empowerment: Educate residents and their families on health maintenance and self-care strategies.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, caregivers, and allied health professionals to ensure cohesive, high-quality care.
- Regulatory Compliance: Uphold healthcare standards and ensure adherence to all relevant clinical and legal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Licensure: Registered with the Sri Lanka Nursing Council (SLNC) or NAITA.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferably in elderly care, palliative care, general medicine or surgery wards.
Special Skills:
- Additional qualifications in psychology are highly desirable.
- Experience in old-age care
- Experience in psychiatric wards and/or clinics
Compensation & Benefits:
- Flexible 8-hour shifts shared by a team of 3 nurses
- 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (8 hours)
- 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (8 hours)
- 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (8 hours)
- Performance Bonus - Up to 10,000 LKR
