Job Summary:

Mangrove Executive Lounge and Bar is seeking a charismatic and professional FEMALE Hostess to join our hospitality team. As a Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for guests, providing a warm welcome and ensuring exceptional customer service. Your friendly demeanour, organization skills, and ability to multitask will contribute to creating a positive and memorable dining experience for our patrons.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a warm and welcoming attitude.
  2. Seat guests in a timely and efficient manner, taking into account table preferences and balancing server workload.
  3. Manage restaurant reservations and coordinate seating arrangements to maximize dining room capacity.
  4. Maintain a tidy and organized reception area, including managing the waiting list during peak hours.
  5. Answer phone calls and inquiries regarding reservations, menu options, and restaurant policies.
  6. Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operation of the dining area.
  7. Assist with setting and clearing tables, as needed, to facilitate efficient table turnover.
  8. Monitor dining room activity and address any issues or concerns raised by guests.
  9. Provide guests with menus and assist with menu explanations or recommendations as required.
  10. Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and courteously, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  11. Maintain knowledge of restaurant policies, promotions, and special events to effectively communicate information to guests.
  12. Uphold the highest standards of hospitality and customer service to ensure a positive and memorable dining experience for all guests.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred but not required.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
  3. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and effectively manage guest inquiries and requests.
  4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently.
  5. Professional appearance and demeanour, with the ability to represent the restaurant in a positive light.
  6. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  8. Proficiency in basic computer skills for managing reservations and seating charts (training can be provided if necessary).
