Job Summary:
Mangrove Executive Lounge and Bar is seeking an organized and customer-oriented Receptionist/Cashier to join our team. As a Receptionist/Cashier, you will be the first point of contact for guests, handling inquiries, reservations, and payment transactions with professionalism and efficiency. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly as they enter the establishment and assist them with inquiries or reservations.
- Answer phone calls promptly and courteously, providing information about the restaurant's offerings, hours of operation, and reservation availability.
- Manage restaurant reservations and seating arrangements, ensuring efficient use of dining space and guest satisfaction.
- Process guest payments accurately and efficiently using POS (Point of Sale) systems or cash handling procedures.
- Handle cash, credit card, and electronic payment transactions, providing receipts and maintaining accurate records.
- Balance cash registers at the beginning and end of shifts, reconciling discrepancies and reporting any irregularities to management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the reception area, including tidying up menus, brochures, and promotional materials.
- Collaborate with other staff members, including servers and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth operation of the dining area.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as filing paperwork, managing reservation databases, and preparing reports.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including cash handling, security, and safety protocols.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact courteously and effectively with guests and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage reservations, payments, and administrative tasks accurately.
- Proficiency in cash handling procedures and experience with POS systems or similar software.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanour, with a positive attitude and willingness to assist guests.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Basic math skills and the ability to perform calculations accurately.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
