About Our Client

Our client is a renewable energy startup supported and financed by one of the world's largest energy companies. The chosen candidate will join a team dedicated to ensuring the timely delivery of research and policy recommendations for international clients. The work will focus on energy geopolitics and the challenges and opportunities associated with Indonesia's exploration of low-carbon energy options. This includes the possibility of importing electricity from regional power grids, the potential for hydrogen, and transboundary carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) in the region.

Job Description

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Indonesian government strategies and policies in the following areas:The regional Power Grid and Indonesia's broader electricity grid integration considerations. Renewable energy deployment policies and potential, with an emphasis on power storage technology. Trends and potential in the hydrogen power market. The current state and deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies.

  • Collaborate with a team of researchers and economists to report on the economic and geopolitical implications of hydrogen, CCS, energy storage, and carbon markets in power generation.

  • Conduct research from all sources to examine the international relevance of gathered information.
  • Engage with local stakeholders from various sectors to exchange views and gain insights throughout the project timeline for all work packages.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in international relations/politics, public policy, energy science, engineering, environmental management, or other related disciplines.
  • Knowledge and experience in sustainable energy transition trends and/or low carbon technology developments.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work well both independently and in a team.
  • Strong influencing and collaboration qualities, analytical abilities, and a broad sense of perspective.
  • Experience working with at least 5 renewable projects related to hydrogen, CCS, and energy storage.
  • Ability to travel overseas with given notice.
