Key Responsibilities and Duties (Activities / Tasks)

  • Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain the needed parts.
  • Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  • Perform all body and fender repairs according to estimates.
  • Conduct welding, soldering, body alignment, and oxidizing operations.
  • Assess and analyze damaged areas to prepare for painting.
  • Sand, clean, and prime vehicle surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion and smooth finishes.
  • Skillfully match paint colors to the original vehicle color or customer specifications.
  • Ensure painted surfaces are smooth, free of imperfections, and match surrounding areas seamlessly.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Paint vehicles with a high level of efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean workshop.
  • Document all work performed as soon as the job is completed.
  • Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, such as the disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the organization’s vision, mission, and values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and suppliers.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Key Performance Indicators (Results / Outcomes)

  • Complete jobs within the designated time frames set by management.
  • Achieve a minimum productivity of 95%.
  • Achieve a minimum efficiency of 100%.
  • Ensure no "rework" repairs due to below-standard work.
  • Meet and adhere to the company's attendance policy and procedures.
  • Follow management directions at all times.
  • Report any breaches and concerns to the Workshop Foreman first for action.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Form 6 pass.
  • Trade Certificate/Diploma in Automotive (Spray Painting & Panel Beating).

Minimum Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in the field.
  • Hands-on experience with heavy vehicles/buses.

Specific Skills

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of customer service and needs.
  • Must have a valid driving license.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
