About the Role:
As a Student Success Instructor Intern at Metana, you'll be a key part of our mission to empower aspiring developers and blockchain enthusiasts. This isn't just about teaching code; it's about blending technical expertise with genuine mentorship. You'll provide personalized, one-on-one support, help students navigate complex concepts, and design engaging content. By tracking student progress and identifying challenges, you'll play a direct role in creating a supportive learning environment that helps students succeed. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about software engineering, education, and guiding the next generation of tech talent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Student Mentorship & Guidance: Act as a mentor, guiding students one-on-one through their coding journey and helping them overcome technical and conceptual challenges.
- Learning Experience Enhancement: Assist in automating and personalizing learning processes, and test new teaching strategies to make the learning experience more effective and engaging.
- Progress Tracking & Support: Regularly monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with the instructional team to optimize learning outcomes.
- Content Creation: Help create presentations and other educational materials that break down complex software engineering concepts into clear, engaging content.
- Community Building: Engage with students and the team on platforms like Slack and Discord, fostering a sense of community and providing timely support.
What We're Looking For:
- Skills: Proficiency in a range of technologies including React, JavaScript, SQL, Tailwind CSS, and AWS. Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for mentoring. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
- Experience: Currently pursuing or have completed a degree in Computer Science or a related field. Previous experience in teaching or tutoring is a plus but not a requirement.
- Mindset: An ability to adapt and innovate in a fast-paced educational environment.
