Position Summary:

The Senior SEO Specialist is responsible for advancing our SEO efforts beyond standard practices. This role involves researching the latest SEO strategies and technologies, assisting the SEO Team Lead with reporting findings, and sharing knowledge with the SEO Team. The Senior SEO Specialist manages SEO performance for internal brands and develops 3-6-month strategic plans to generate new ideas and opportunities. Key responsibilities include on-page and off-page SEO, implementing Google Analytics and GA4 setups, and collaborating with internal teams and account managers.

Key Responsibilities:

SEO Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement 3-6-month SEO strategic plans, generating new ideas and opportunities for account managers to discuss with clients.

On-Page SEO:

  • Focus on optimizing on-page elements for client websites and ensuring overall SEO results.
  • Create and manage the implementation of SEO strategies for allocated accounts.

Off-Page SEO:

  • Implement off-page SEO strategies, including checking for spammy backlinks and coordinating with link-building teams to target URLs for content optimization.

Technical SEO:

  • Create and implement technical changes to client websites or provide documentation for clients’ web developers.

Collaboration:

  • Work with delivery team members and account managers on new and existing customer projects.
  • Liaise with the Account Managers to discuss new opportunities and SEO issues.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Analyze, report, and monitor service delivery performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

Tools Management:

  • Manage Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and other SEO tools.
  • Manage and implement disavowed or bad links into appropriate tools.

Content and UX:

  • Develop content briefs for writers and utilize research tools for keyword ideas.
  • Liaise with designers to create mock-ups for new websites to improve UX and suggest changes to account managers.

Mentorship:

  • Mentor other SEO specialists, sharing knowledge and helping them improve their skills.
  • Lead SEO-related strategy meetings, workshops, and online learning sessions.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Ensure service delivery processes meet or exceed industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with SEO and marketing teams to ensure consistency and performance of online marketing efforts.
  • Identify new opportunities and work with the SEO Team Leader to implement the latest search techniques.
  • Enhance rankings and manage internal websites focused on digital marketing, data centers, and managed IT services.

Budget Responsibilities & Delegations:

  • Ensure work is conducted within budget requirements based on clients’ spend.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Mastery of SEO fundamentals, including keyword research, on-page optimization, link building, and content optimization.
  • Expert knowledge of SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs.
  • Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical SEO issues.
  • Ability to provide knowledge and assist with SEO projects and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of search engine algorithm updates, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of other digital marketing channels such as content marketing, social media marketing, and PPC advertising.
