Head of Information Security (Nigeria)

Job Summary

Our client, a prominent SaaS company, is seeking a Head of Information Security to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive information security strategy. This role is pivotal in safeguarding the company’s digital assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and protecting customer data. As the Head of Information Security, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of information security, from risk assessment and policy development to incident response and security operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a robust information security strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and management of security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Lead a team of security professionals to monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate security into the overall technology strategy.
• Provide guidance and training to employees on security best practices and emerging threats.
• Manage the company’s response to security breaches, including investigation, mitigation, and communication.
• Stay current on the latest security trends, technologies, and regulations to keep the company’s security posture up to date.
• Report regularly to the executive team on the status of the company’s security initiatives and any potential risks.
• Foster a culture of security awareness across the organization.

Functional/Technical Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of information security principles, practices, and technologies.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful security programs.
• Experience with regulatory compliance requirements, such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.
• Strong understanding of risk management and incident response processes.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable.
• Ability to communicate complex security issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
