About the role

We are looking to hire a

Lead Full Stack Software Engineer / Tech Lead (Remote)

for a technology provider specialising in management software and SaaS solutions with a presence across North America, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. The ideal candidate will be crucial in enhancing scalability, improving user experience, and optimising operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include leading the team by example, addressing immediate technical challenges, and aligning engineering efforts with long-term strategic goals set by R&D leadership. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, effective collaboration with internal team members and external stakeholders, and leveraging the knowledge of colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily technical guidance to the team, ensuring adherence to best practices and delivery of high-quality code. Facilitate efficient work processes and support team members in overcoming technical challenges.Technical Leadership:
  • Play a key role in the development and delivery of significant features and enhancements. Ensure these features address user needs and business objectives while integrating seamlessly into the existing platform.Development of Large Features:
  • Oversee the health and stability of systems and components managed by your team. Manage technical debt incrementally and lead incident response efforts to promptly address and resolve issues.System Health:
  • Identify and spearhead initiatives for process and technology enhancements. Focus on modernizing legacy systems and aligning improvements with the platform’s long-term goals and strategic vision.Continuous Improvement:
  • Work closely with architects, R&D leadership, and other technical leads to ensure alignment with company objectives. Collaborate with experienced team members to leverage and build upon existing knowledge.Collaboration:
  • Mentor and guide engineers, promoting best practices and skill development. Lead by example to foster a culture of continuous learning and contribute to the platform’s success.Mentorship and Growth:

Requirements

  • of experience in software engineering, including at least 2 years in a similar role within a large-scale product environment. Background includes substantial work with legacy code and the incremental modernization of complex systems.Minimum of 7 years
  • Possess deep expertise in at least two of the following technology areas and are proficient in both frontend and backend development. Strong experience with AWS is also required. Technical skills are complemented by a solid understanding of modern software engineering practices, including continuous delivery, domain-driven design, and event-driven architectures.
  • Microsoft Technologies/Frameworks (preferably .NET 4+ or classic ASP)
  • PHP Technologies/Frameworks (preferably Laravel)
  • Node.js Technologies/Frameworks (preferably Express, NestJS, Vue
  • Extensive experience with various database technologies to effectively tackle data challenges. This includes both relational databases and NoSQL technologies such as document stores, key-value stores, search/indexing solutions, graph databases, and geospatial databases.
  • Strong understanding of product development within a Scrum-driven environment. Have experience working closely with product managers, Scrum Masters, and cross-functional teams to deliver sustained value.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for other engineers, guiding them in best practices and supporting their career growth. Leadership style is collaborative, respecting existing team members' contributions while driving overall team success.
