Senior Quality Engineer (3 – 6 months Contract basis - working in office full-time at a leading Softeware Development company)

The position is based in Colombo, SL

In this role you will:

· Perform functional, automated, and regression testing from low level test environments through release to Production.

· Authoring detailed test cases that provide high coverage and enforce traceability back to the user story.

· Isolate, replicate, and report defects, then verify fixes within JIRA. Ensure all corrective actions are assigned, documented, and completed.

· Recommend improvements to existing standards and procedures.

· Maintain and improve the existing test automation framework that supports Web, API, and Mobile product testing.

· Design, develop, and execute automation scripts.

· Ability to solve problems more efficiently.

· Ability to do PR reviews and provide constructive feedback.

· Self-motivator to bring up the QE process to the next level with limited guidance

We are looking for someone who has:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· 4+ years of Quality/Automation Engineering experience.

· Hands on experience in UI automation and API automation.

· Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, NodeJS, Typescript is essential for effective test automation.

· Familiarity with test automation frameworks like Junit, TestNG, Selenium, Appium, or Cypress

· Experience with API testing tools like Postman or similar.

· Familiarity with JIRA or equivalent bug tracking software.

· Experience with Confluence or similar document management system.

· Experience working with source control (such as GIT) and build management systems (such as Jenkins)

· Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.

· Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a desire to be challenged and learn new skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

· Experience in Performance testing using JMeter will be an added advantage.
