We are looking for a driven Biotechnology Intern to join our research and development team, working closely with cross-functional teams of software engineers, data scientists, and biologists. This is a unique opportunity for a biotechnology student to apply their biological insights in a tech-driven environment, directly impacting the accuracy and effectiveness of our health-tracking solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Algorithm Development: Assist in the analysis and interpretation of physiological data (heart rate, sleep patterns, etc.) and work with teams to develop algorithms that detect health patterns, abnormalities, and trends.
- Product Testing & Validation: Conduct product trials, validate sensor accuracy, and calibrate wearable devices to ensure accurate data collection that meets biological benchmarks.
- Sensor Calibration: Support sensor development and optimization for measuring physiological parameters by applying your understanding of biological systems.
- Data Privacy & Compliance: Contribute to solutions that ensure sensitive health data management aligns with privacy regulations and ethical standards.
- Health Monitoring Algorithms: Help develop and refine algorithms that monitor user health conditions in real-time, translating biological knowledge into actionable insights.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related fields.
- Programming Knowledge: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB, with experience in data analysis and algorithm development.
- Bioinformatics Tools: Familiarity with tools like BLAST, ClustalW, and SAMtools is essential, as these will assist in data analysis and pattern recognition in biological datasets.
- Statistical Analysis & Machine Learning: Experience in statistical analysis and basic machine learning algorithms is highly preferred. Knowledge of frameworks like SciPy, Scikit-Learn, or R’s statistical packages is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
