The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our technology team. In this role, you will lead efforts to design, implement, and enhance our DevOps framework, ensuring seamless and secure deployments while optimizing system performance and reliability. You will act as a key technical advisor, collaborating across teams to drive automation, scalability, and best practices in infrastructure and deployment processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and implement DevOps strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency across all environments.
  • Lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments and enabling rapid, reliable releases.
  • Architect and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with a focus on security, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and monitoring, using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and logging systems. Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting of system issues to ensure minimal downtime and proactive incident response.
  • Partner with development, QA, and security teams to promote DevOps best practices. Mentor junior DevOps engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
  • Integrate security best practices into the DevOps pipeline, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and secure management of secrets, credentials, and sensitive data.

Skills & Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS in multi-account organisations. Expertise in configuring and deploying AWS infrastructure components. We use a broad set AWS services including EC2, EKS, S3, EFS, RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, AppFlow, Redshift, API Gateway, Lambdas, WAF, CloudFormation and Control Tower.
  • 5+ years of experience using IaC tools, including Terraform and CloudFormation. Comfortable writing modules from scratch and have experience of migrating existing resources into code.
  • Strong skills with the Linux OS, comfortable using the CLI and should be able to troubleshoot low-level Linux problems.
  • Strong Kubernetes configuration and troubleshooting skills is a must. Should be able to write Dockerfiles, Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts. Should be comfortable extending Kubernetes using CRDs
  • Must be proficient in scripting using Bash and Groovy.
  • Experience of working on a microservice architecture hosted in Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience of managing and securing AWS cloud environments with configuration of key services like AWS WAF, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Kubernetes, GuardDuty, X-Ray, Control Tower, Security Hub, Shield, Cognito, Secrets Manager, Key Management Service.
  • Experience with DevOps tooling to setup CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins (must-have), ArgoCD, Bitbucket Pipelines, Bitrise, and integrating code quality measurement in these pipelines with Sonar Cloud.
