Senior Executive – Category Development & Analytics

Purpose of the Job:

The Senior Executive – Category Development & Analytics drives category growth by aligning suppliers through strategic sourcing, data analytics, and performance management. This role leads supplier negotiations on pricing and trade terms, develops dashboards using tools like Power BI and Excel, and delivers insights to optimize category strategies. Strong analytical, negotiation, and visual communication skills are essential to support internal teams and build long-term supplier partnerships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Organizational Excellence:

• Lead strategic discussions with suppliers on pricing, terms of trade, and product developments to align with category goals.
• Develop and maintain dashboards to track category performance across different product categories.
• Provide regular reports and insights on category performance, analyzing market trends, pricing, and performance metrics.
• Ensure alignment of suppliers & product offerings with the category tree and ensure that suppliers support overall category objectives.
• Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with suppliers that support the long-term success of product categories.

Process Excellence:

• Continuously evaluate category strategies through data-driven insights to enhance performance and efficiency
• Identify improvement opportunities and provide actionable feedback on category performance.
• Provide periodic updates and performance feedback to internal stakeholders regarding supplier effectiveness and category development progress

Key Competencies:

• Deep understanding of strategic sourcing, procurement practices and trade terms (across the HORECA or related industries will be an added advantage)
• Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools such as Power BI / Tableau, and Advanced Excel for tracking, visualizing, and interpreting category performance.
• Effective communication & negotiation skills with internal teams and suppliers, ensuring alignment and smooth collaboration.
• Proficient in Canva and similar design tools to support the creation of visually appealing category dashboards, reports, and presentations.
