Web Designer & Developer (Client-Facing) - Colombo, Sri Lanka We’re looking for an experienced Web Designer & Developer who excels at both design and development, and who can confidently lead client conversations. You’ll gather and interpret client requirements, provide strategic insights, and collaborate with our in-house designer and developer to deliver cutting-edge websites that exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and guiding them through the design process. Present design concepts, gather feedback, and maintain proactive communication throughout project lifecycles.
2. Website Development: Build and maintain responsive websites, predominantly using WordPress. Implement custom themes, plugins, and functionality using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
3. Landing Page Creation: Design and develop high-converting landing pages aligned with client goals and marketing strategies.
4. Collaborative Design & Strategy: Work closely with our in-house designer to translate mockups and wireframes into functional, visually appealing websites. Offer expert insights on UX/UI best practices, ensuring sites are both user-friendly and on-brand.
5. Performance Optimisation: Ensure all websites are optimised for speed, SEO, and mobile responsiveness.
6. Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Address technical issues promptly, diagnosing and fixing bugs while maintaining site performance and functionality.
7. Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing across multiple devices and browsers to guarantee seamless user experiences.
8. Team Coordination: Collaborate with marketing, content, and design teams, providing leadership and clear direction to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.

Skills and Qualifications

• Design Mastery: Strong portfolio demonstrating visually compelling, user-focused websites and landing pages.
• Technical Proficiency: Minimum 3 years’ experience in web design and development. In-depth WordPress knowledge, including custom themes and plugins. Strong front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Familiarity with back-end (PHP, MySQL). Excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities.
• Client-Facing Experience: Exceptional communication skills to lead conversations and present ideas clearly. Ability to interpret client feedback and translate it into actionable updates.
• Tools & Platforms: Proficiency with design tools like Figma or Adobe XD. Experience with analytics (Google Analytics) and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify) is advantageous.
• PortfolioRequired: Please include links or attachments to previous web designs in your application.
