Job Summary:
As an SMSF (Self-Managed Superannuation Fund) Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and administering SMSFs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing high-quality accounting services to our clients. You will leverage your experience with Xero to efficiently manage financial records, prepare reports, and support the overall financial well-being of our clients' SMSFs.
Key Responsibilities:
- SMSF Administration: Manage the administration of SMSFs, including setting up new funds, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with ATO regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, annual reports, and tax returns for SMSFs using Xero.
- Compliance: Ensure SMSFs comply with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including contributions, pensions, and investments.
- Audit Coordination: Liaise with auditors to facilitate the annual audit process, ensuring all necessary documentation and information are provided.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on their SMSFs, addressing inquiries, and offering professional advice.
- Investment Management: Assist clients with the management and reporting of SMSF investments, ensuring accurate recording and compliance.
- Reconciliations: Perform regular bank and investment reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Taxation: Handle the preparation and lodgement of SMSF tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Advisory Services: Provide strategic advice to clients on SMSF-related matters, including tax planning, investment strategies, and retirement planning.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with changes in SMSF legislation and best practices, implementing improvements to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in SMSF accounting and administration, with a strong understanding of Australian SMSF regulations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CA qualification is preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in using Xero accounting software.
- In-depth knowledge of SMSF regulations, compliance requirements, and tax laws.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
