Job Description:

Position Overview: We are seeking a seasoned GIS Operations Manager with 8-10 years of relevant experience to lead our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) operations and network planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in team management, fiber capex, fiber management, database management, ArcGIS, and network planning, complemented by a strong track record in delivering impactful results across diverse geospatial and telecom projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: • Oversee and mentor a team of GIS professionals, fostering collaboration and performance excellence. • Establish clear objectives, assign tasks, and track progress to meet organizational goals. • Conduct training sessions to enhance technical expertise within the team. • Fiber Capex and Management: • Plan, monitor, and optimize fiber capex projects to ensure efficient resource utilization. • Lead the deployment of fiber optic networks, including GPON, OLT, and ONT technologies. • Oversee fiber asset inventory, lifecycle management, and operational readiness. • Network Planning and Design: • Develop and implement FTTx network planning strategies, including aerial and underground fiber deployment. • Utilize tools such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and QGIS for high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD). • Conduct route selection, splitter boundary validation, and BOQ preparation for network projects. • GIS and Database Management: • Manage and maintain GIS databases to ensure data accuracy and availability. • Perform spatial analysis and utilize mapping tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, and Google Earth to support planning initiatives. • Leverage scripting tools for data integration and automation. • Operational Excellence: • Ensure network uptime by monitoring alarms and incident management systems. • Validate OTDR reports, optimize fiber routes, and oversee fault rectifications. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align GIS and network planning efforts with business objectives.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare detailed reports, visualizations, and presentations for stakeholders. • Maintain comprehensive documentation of workflows, designs, and project progress.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related fields. • 8-10 years of experience in GIS operations, network planning, or telecom sectors. • Proficiency in GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS), network planning software, and fiber management systems. • Strong expertise in GPON, FTTx, and DWDM technologies. • Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results within deadlines. • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team management skills.
