As the Platform Engineer for you will design and build cloud-based (GCP) distributed systems. Drawing upon your experience of software engineering, cloud engineering and DevOps expertise to ensure the team delivers robust, observable and scalable product features. You will work as part of the team with a cohesive and collaborative culture, uphold a high bar of engineering standards, and to be a key member of the cross-functional team delivering the company product roadmap.

Duties and responsibilities

• Implementation, testing and management of Infrastructure as Code of cloud-based solutions that may include CI/CD, data integrations, APIs, web and mobile apps, and ML solutions
• Build and maintain centralised self-service platform (re-usable IAC modules & CI/CD pipelines) to enable other engineering teams
• Defining and implementing scalable, observable, manageable, and self-healing cloud-based solution using Google Cloud
• Maintaining Quality Assurance standards and ensuring our platform meets the highest levels of reliability, performance, and security

Experience

• Proven 3+ years experience as a cloud engineer within product engineering organisation
• Experience designing and delivering cloud-based distributed solutions. GCP experience is highly sort after and GCP certifications are a benefit
• Experience building infrastructure as code with tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions and strong containerisation skills with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Cloud Security, Identity, Compliance and Governance best practices.
• Experience working with distributed systems/microservice architecture
• (Preferred) Experience building backend APIs, services and/or integrations with languages such as Python (preferred), Node.js, etc
• (Preferred) Database manipulation and implementation with SQL
