Oracle Consultants (Private) Limited is a leading consultancy firm, which offers a range of services including Quantity Surveying, Contract Management, Commercial Management, Claims Preparation/Review, Dispute Resolution, and Expert Witness. We are currently looking for Quantity Surveyors (Pre-Contract) to join our team in Sri Lanka, which is located at Katubedda, Moratuwa, to assist us in serving a rapidly growing client base.
(A) Quantity Surveyors General Description The Quantity Surveyor shall be self-motivated, capable to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, committed to meet the deliverable in time on completing various assignments. And will be reporting to Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor.
Core Responsibilities
- Taking off quantities from the design drawings utilizing measurement software or otherwise.
- Generation of taking off sheets/ reports as required by the client.
- Identifying areas for which insufficient or ambiguous information is provided and raise appropriate queries.
- Building up BOQ descriptions referring to information available (drawings, specs., schedules, reports, models, tables etc.)
- Undertaking bulk quantity check-ups.
- Preparation of BOQ / Cost plan.
- Perform QA/QC check according to the procedures established.
- Provide daily/final progress updates to the Senior Quantity Surveyor.
- Working to the agreed time scale and program to meet the set deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation of Tender documents and Tender Evaluation Reports.
Expected Competencies
- Minimum 3-6 years of Pre-Contract QS work experience.
- Computer knowledge of Cost-X, Revit, and Auto-Cad software applications.
- Experience in BOQ and Cost Plan preparation based on NRM-1, NRM-2, CESMM-4, POMI, CSI Master Format etc.
- Experience in building and/or infrastructure projects in the Middle East, UK, Australia, Singapore, or New Zealand.
- Experience in procurement management & tendering procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English.
Expected Educational and Professional Background
- University degree from a recognised university in an appropriate field such as: Quantity Surveying, Procurement or Construction Management.
