We are seeking a Lead, Safe Production System (SPS) to drive operational excellence by enhancing safety, reliability, and productivity across our sites. This role is a key part of our journey to become a Best Operator, empowering operational teams with the right Lean methodologies, problem-solving tools, and cultural mindset shifts to achieve sustainable performance improvements.

Located in Labrador City, this role offers a dynamic and hands-on opportunity to collaborate with line management, Business Improvement (BI)/Operational Excellence (OE) teams, Safe Production Centric Teams (SPCT), and COO teams. You will play a crucial role in developing leadership capabilities, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance performance by conducting on-site SPS assessments, coaching leaders (managers, superintendents), and driving sustainable operational improvements.

  • Develop and upskill site leaders, OE/BI teams, and SPS delivery teams in problem-solving, waste elimination, and Kaizen methodologies through training and hands-on coaching.

  • Lead cultural transformation by embodying and promoting Lean attitudes, SPS Mindsets & Behaviors, and instilling a strong will for change within teams.

  • Facilitate SPS training workshops and implement best practices across multiple sites and product groups.

  • Collaborate with COO Design and Capability Teams to develop and refine benchmark Best Practices and training materials supporting the organization’s journey to becoming a Best Operator.

Job Requirements:

  • A commitment to safety, respect, and our core values of Care, Courage, and Curiosity.

  • Significant operations, maintenance, or leadership experience, preferably in the automotive industry or other Lean-driven industries.

  • Extensive expertise in Operational Excellence, including PDCA, Lean methodologies, complex problem-solving, waste elimination, and Kaizen.

  • Proven ability to drive cultural change and inspire teams to embrace continuous improvement.

  • A hands-on, results-oriented approach, with the ability to work autonomously and influence at all levels.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support site operations and share knowledge across teams.
