Classified Plant Inspector (API 510, 653, 570) – Mining Industry

Job Description: Benchmark Staffing Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Classified Plant Inspector to join our client’s team in the Mining Industry in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with industry standards for pressure vessels, storage tanks, and piping systems. This role requires expertise in API 510, API 653, and API 570 certifications to maintain the integrity and safety of mining infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections of pressure vessels, storage tanks, and piping systems following API 510, API 653, and API 570 standards.
• Identify, document, and report defects, recommending corrective actions to maintain safety and operational efficiency.
• Perform risk assessments, maintain compliance records, and prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure plant integrity.
• Provide expert technical advice on asset management, reliability improvements, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure all inspections and maintenance activities adhere to mining safety regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

• API 510 (Pressure Vessel Inspector) Certification – Required
• API 653 (Storage Tank Inspector) Certification – Required
• API 570 (Piping Inspector) Certification – Required
• Proven experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and inspection techniques.
• Familiarity with mining safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is an advantage.
