It traces its roots back to 2013 when its parent company, Joiway Technology, was founded in Guangzhou, China, marking the start of its journey in consumer electronics and vaping devices. However, the JOIWAY brand itself was launched later—in early 2020—when the founder, re-registered her company as GAP VAPE Technology Co., Ltd. and introduced JOIWAY as its own R&D-driven vape brand.

As a fast-growing, tech-driven brand, JOIWAY offers a dynamic environment for professionals in R&D, product design, marketing, digital content, and operations. With recent Jakarta-based hires, they’re scaling key functions and looking for vision-aligned talent.

Role Overview: The client is seeking a creative and culturally savvy Social Media Specialist (Mandarin Speaker) to manage and grow our online presence across key platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for content creation, translation, and coordination between the Indonesian and Chinese teams to ensure engaging, localized content that resonates with Mandarin-speaking audiences.

You will lead community engagement, monitor brand reputation, and analyze campaign performance to refine social media strategies. A strong understanding of cultural trends, digital behavior, and platform-specific best practices is essential, along with the ability to quickly adapt to new content formats and feedback. Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation and Coordinator:
  • Translating and adapting content from Bahasa to Mandarin.
  • Coordinating and bridging between Indonesia Team and China Team to make a content
  • Community Engagement:
  • Managing online reputation: Monitoring and managing conversations about the brand on social media platforms, addressing concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Social Media Strategy and Analysis:
  • Developing strategies: Working with the marketing team to create strategies that cater to Mandarin-speaking audiences, including paid social campaigns, influencer partnerships, and community outreach.
  • Campaign tracking: Monitoring the performance of social media campaigns
  • Adjusting strategies: Analyzing the results and adjusting content strategies based on insights and trends within the Mandarin-speaking community.
  • Cultural and Market Research:
  • Staying updated on trends: Keeping up with the latest social media trends, pop culture, and events.
  • Competitor analysis: Monitoring competitors' social media presence and analyzing their strategies to identify areas for improvement or opportunities for differentiation.
  • Brand Consistency and Communication:
  • Collaborating with teams: Coordinating with other teams (marketing, public relations, design, content China Team) to ensure the social media content aligns with broader marketing goals and campaigns.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree: at least Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant major.
  • Years of Experience: at least 3 years of experience in Social Media, including Research and Analysis, Content Creation, and Community Engagement parts.
  • Language: English (conversational and written), and Mandarin (conversational and written - able to translate content and reach out to Mandarin-speaking audience through content)
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, and the ability to brainstorm and execute creative social media campaigns and posts that captivate audiences, and strong understanding of cultural nuances, trends, and behaviors within Mandarin-speaking communities to tailor content appropriately.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with social media analytics tools to track and measure the effectiveness of campaigns and engagement.
  • Professional Quality: The ability to quickly adapt content and strategies to new trends, feedback, or shifts in the digital landscape.
