Job Description We are looking for a capable and confident Junior HR Manager to support our growing HR function. This role is ideal for someone with solid operational experience and a minimum of 1–2 years in a senior-level HR position, ready to contribute to both daily HR responsibilities and emerging leadership tasks in a mid-sized, fast-paced organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage core HR operations including recruitment coordination, onboarding, payroll inputs, employee relations, compliance, and leave/attendance tracking.
- Handle statutory compliance processes including EPF/ETF registrations, death claims, and terminations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Operate and manage data through Rooster software and maintain HRIS systems effectively.
- Support monthly performance review cycles, assist in preparing documentation for evaluations, and follow up on employee feedback actions.
- Participate in implementing internal HR initiatives around employee engagement, well-being, and training and development.
- Collaborate with department heads for resource planning, basic job structuring, and junior-level workforce planning tasks.
- Assist in maintaining policy documentation, audit files, and HR reporting.
- Support the creation of a positive and compliant workplace culture through professional communication and issue resolution.
- Utilize ClickUp and timesheet systems to track and generate accurate time reports for team and project management purposes.
- Lead culture and synergy audits through team interviews, sentiment surveys, leadership mapping, and preparing culture scorecards for management.
- Review and optimize organizational structure and workflows to clarify roles, establish feedback loops, identify bottlenecks, and develop improvement plans.
- Develop a customized “People Blueprint” aligned with business goals, implementing engagement, feedback, and decision-making systems.
- Manage recruitment by designing interview frameworks and skills assessments to evaluate candidate capabilities and cultural fit.
- Develop employer branding by updating the Employee Value Proposition (EVP), improving careers page UX/UI, and creating recruitment and culture communication materials.
Education & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a relevant field is mandatory.
- CIPM membership (or actively pursuing it) is an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–4 years of full-time HR experience in a private company.
- Must have at least 1–2 years in a senior HR position (e.g., Senior HR Executive or equivalent).
- Internships will not be considered toward the total experience requirement.
Skills & Competencies
- Sound knowledge of Sri Lankan labour laws, EPF/ETF procedures, and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in Rooster software and general HRIS tools.
- Strong documentation, communication, and reporting abilities.
- Organized, reliable, and proactive in managing both recurring and project-based tasks.
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive matters.
Other Requirements
- Age 25 or above.
- Adaptable, collaborative, and willing to take initiative in a growing HR team.
