Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated and reliable cleaning staff to join our housekeeping team. As a member of our care home staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across all resident areas, ensuring a comfortable and dignified environment for our residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and staff spaces according to daily schedules
• Change bed linens and make beds in accordance with care home protocols
• Manage laundry collection, washing, drying, folding, and returning of resident clothing and linens
• Ensure proper disposal of waste, including sanitary waste, in line with health and safety regulations
• Refill cleaning and hygiene supplies as needed
• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or concerns regarding resident safety to the supervisor
• Follow infection control and COVID-19 protocols rigorously
• Maintain a friendly and respectful attitude towards residents, visitors, and colleagues
• Support with light errands or requests that improve resident comfort (e.g. adjusting room layout, tidying personal items with consent)

Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial services (experience in a healthcare or aged care setting is an advantage)
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Respectful, compassionate, and discreet approach when working in resident spaces
• Basic understanding of safe chemical use and housekeeping equipment
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and carry out cleaning tasks throughout the day
