Your Role

As a Senior Consultant, you will use your professional knowledge and experience with accounting, audit and finance fundamentals, leading assignments, coordination with clients, and service delivery to optimize operational efficiency and client experience.

  • Reports to our senior executives leading the professional consulting services provided to the portfolio of IPO assignments that we advise
  • Critical skill sets include strong fundamentals developed from your prior training either in corporate finance / reporting accountants / external audit (of corporates).
  • The core of this role revolves around meticulous coordination and project management, while being tactful in managing multiple parties involved in the pre / on-going / post IPO cycle.
  • Assigns work to fellow / subordinate team members based on section of assignment that you are taking lead role, while perform quality assurance reviews of work papers
  • Functional responsibilities include  managing and working with other professional team members in ensuring timely and accurate financial / management accounting, and (client finance team) operational reporting allows our senior executives to provide well-informed strategic advice to the client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial and Management (Budgetary) Reporting. Coordinate, monitor and review ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management accounting reports, ensuring timely and accurate financial data for provision to senior executive consultants and clients for decision making and strategising.
  • Project Coordination. Provide support to senior executive consultants on ad hoc / permanent projects that are initiated from time to time, based upon various client portfolios, ranging from (finance function) process improvement, digital technology initiatives, funding rounds (via credit and equity), etc., ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery.
  • Strategic Support via Professional Know-How. Perform and deliver all forms of  financial and business analysis based upon data acquired either externally or internally (via other team members serving the client), hence extending such insights to support senior executive consultants and clients for decision making and strategising.
  • Supporting Advisory Work on Controls and Risk Management. Perform advisory duties assigned by senior executive consultants in relation to internal control frameworks, documentation or implementations that the client may be seeking to execute. Such assignments may entail working with internal / external professional team members by applying COSO (or SOX) framework / requirements. As various risk management framework (including climate risk) take center stage in our business of serving capital market related initiatives, you shall be supporting such assignments as and when such engagements arise.
  • Team Collaboration. Work closely with internal and external professional team members to deliver quality professional work, while tactfully work with client personnel to guide and align client processes to best practices.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance / FinTech or equivalent
  • Relevant professional qualification such as MIA, ACCA, CPA Australia, ICAEW, etc. (both fully qualified and semi qualified welcomed to apply)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional financial experience
  • Knowledge in accounting principles, statutory laws and regulations.
  • Possess strong analytical, quantitative, financial modelling and communication skills.
  • Strong coordination skills; people-oriented and adaptable across scenarios.
  • Prior experience with modern accounting technology such as QBO / Xero / NetSuite / SAGE300 / PowerBI / StoreHub relevant to this role is an added advantage.
  • Experience in leading / managing professional assignments as SIC
  • Have experienced (or observed your superiors in) assignment planning process, budgeted hours, assignment time management and quality assurance for professional assignments
  • Demonstrate confidence and maturity to work under pressure, with a professional team of diverse discipline / skill sets
  • Demonstrate maturity and capability to work with client team members with varying capabilities and training
  • Attention to detail and well organized.

Advantageous if you also possess one or few of the following:

  • Self-driven and possess inclination towards use of technology for professional services
  • Open to learning new technical knowledge
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Possess competent working knowledge with softwares and advanced MS Word, MS Excel
  • Possess complete / fully qualified accounting qualification

Additional Notes:

Being a position based with our consulting team, you would be working with our internal senior executives, while serving our portfolio of pre / post IPO clients. You shall be assigned to work from both our physical office (based out of KLCC / Pavilion KL area) and the clients’ office as the situation requires.
