Job Role**
The Head of Finance is responsible for formulating and executing the financial strategy of the organization at the country level, ensuring full compliance across accounting, legal, trade, and regulatory domains. This role oversees the end-to-end finance function, including GL, AP, AR, Credit & Collections, Treasury, FP&A, and Controllership, and plays a critical role in driving the company’s top and bottom-line performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Finance Leadership & Business Partnership
- Serve as Finance Director-level leader for the Indonesia business unit, reporting regionally (to Bangladesh & Indonesia Director).
- Partner with the General Manager and country management team to shape business strategy and execution.
- Formulate the company’s long-term financial strategy, ensuring it aligns with global and regional directives.
- Drive transformational changes and support broader organizational growth and agility.
- Actively participate in regional and global finance leadership meetings and transformation programs.
- Post-Merger Integration
- Provide financial leadership for M&A activities, including due diligence, risk assessment, and financial modeling.
- Lead or support post-merger integration efforts, ensuring proper consolidation of financial systems, reporting structures, and compliance.
- Collaborate with global and local stakeholders to align strategic goals, restructure financial operations, and maintain governance post-transaction.
- Financial Planning and Monitoring
- Lead the annual budgeting process, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Prepare and submit monthly management reports and quarterly forecasts in line with corporate expectations.
- Monitor company performance against financial KPIs and business targets (top-line, bottom-line, working capital).
- Support post-costing analysis and drive profitability review across retailer and product segments.
- Provide strategic insights and financial advice to support investment and operational decisions.
- Accounting, Compliance & Risk Management
- Oversee full-scope finance operations including GL, AP, AR, Credit Collection, Treasury, FP&A, and Controllership.
- Ensure statutory and internal compliance, including legal, tax, and trade regulations.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Oversee credit management and approval processes to mitigate financial risk.
- Maintain strong governance over internal controls, accounting systems, and documentation standards.
- Manage company secretarial and trade compliance functions with legal accuracy.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a finance team of approximately 15 members, including: FP&A Manager, Billing & Collections Manager, and Financial Controller.
- Drive a high-performance finance culture through coaching, mentoring, and career development.
- Ensure succession planning, regular performance feedback, and alignment with corporate talent goals.
- Identify training and upskilling needs, especially in ERP usage and reporting standards.
- Systems Implementation
- Lead or support ERP implementation and systems optimization, aligning local systems with global infrastructure.
- Promote effective use of digital tools (e.g., Excel, dashboards, financial modeling) for accurate and timely insights.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial and management reporting systems.
- Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, HR, legal, and supply chain teams to drive integrated performance.
- Act as liaison with Big 4 consulting firms, banks, external auditors, government bodies, and tax advisors.
- Represent the company in industry associations or forums when needed.
- Support internal initiatives beyond finance: EHS, ISO, and manpower/HR planning.
Candidate Requirement
- Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
- Having one of these certifications: IAI, CIMA, or ACCA
- Years of Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role as Head of Finance or Finance Director in a multinational environment.
- Technical Expertise:
- Experience should cover key finance areas such as:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Controlling (Cost & Management Accounting)

- ERP Implementation or Finance Systems Transformation
- Strong experience handling multiple entities, country-level financial oversight, and regional/global reporting lines.
- Demonstrated success in M&A, including financial due diligence, post-merger integration, and consolidation.
- Has led or played a key role in ERP implementation or major financial system transformations.
- Experience should cover key finance areas such as:
- Functional Expertise:
- Strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Strong understanding of Indonesian taxation, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Exposure to international accounting standards, financial audits, and internal control frameworks.
- Professional Skills:
- Strong leadership experience managing a finance team of 10–15 people, including department heads.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; able to partner with internal functions (Sales, HR, Supply Chain, Legal) and external partners (Big 4 consultants, auditors, banks, tax offices).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel for financial modeling, forecasting, dashboards, and scenario planning.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.), and experience leading or supporting system implementation/migration.
- Data-driven and detail-oriented, with excellent analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Language: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English - must be comfortable engaging with regional/global teams.
