Job Role
The IP Datacom Product Manager leads the promotion and pre-sales support of the enterprise networking and IP solutions for carrier customers in Indonesia. This role acts as the bridge between sales and technical teams, helping design tailored solutions that match customer needs while actively supporting lead generation and deal closure.
The Product Manager is responsible for presenting routers, switches, firewalls, and SD-WAN offerings, engaging directly with operators and channel partners, and providing competitive insight and solution strategy. The role also involves analyzing customer networks, crafting proposals, and tracking market and competitor trends to enhance the company's positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre Sales and Customer Engagement
- Promote Huawei’s Datacom solutions (routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN) to carrier customers in Indonesia.
- Conduct technical product presentations and support sales engagements to increase customer awareness and solution adoption.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships across technical and business teams, including direct coordination with customer planning and network departments.
- Sales and Revenue Contribution
- Actively engage customers and generate leads, not relying solely on sales teams for account entry.
- Share revenue and sales target responsibilities with the commercial team, supporting deal structuring, pricing strategy, and opportunity closure.
- Provide input for commercial and project planning based on solution fit, competition, and partner dynamics.
- Strategic Market Development
- Define and develop the market direction, tactics, and growth roadmap for Huawei’s IP Datacom business over a 2–3 year horizon.
- Specify resource and investment needs (e.g., manpower, partner enablement, marketing) to support business goals.
- Support branding efforts, attend industry forums, and promote Huawei’s presence in the IP networking space.
- Market Insight & Competitive Positioning
- Track and analyze competitor offerings (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Nokia) and develop differentiated solution strategies to position Huawei advantageously in bids and projects.
- Tailor solutions to project scenarios, industry needs, and customer architecture with customized and scenario-based approaches.
- Internal Collaboration
- Provide knowledge transfer and product training to internal sales teams and partners to enhance field readiness.
- Work with technical departments to align on solution feasibility, design implementation, and project support.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other ICT-related disciplines.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, solution sales, or pre-sales roles within the ICT or telecommunication industry, particularly in the Network Infrastructure or Data Communication, including routers, switches, firewalls, SD-WAN.
- Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of carrier network architecture and enterprise network deployments.
- Product and Customer Expertise:
- Proven experience in selling or supporting routers, switches, firewalls, and SD-WAN solutions.
- Familiar with key network protocols (IGP, BGP, MPLS, SR/SRv6, L2VPN, L3VPN) and carrier-grade networking environments.
- Knowledge of customer network compositions and preferences, with an understanding of competitors’ strengths and weaknesses (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Nokia).
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong capability in solution design, opportunity strategy, and project operation.
- Skilled in lead generation, opportunity conversion, and managing full sales and implementation cycles.
- Language: Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
