Job Role
The Account Manager – Government is responsible for driving the client's business growth across key public sector clients, including government ministries, SOEs, transportation authorities, and other high-impact verticals.
The Account Manager will lead end-to-end project cycles, from identifying sales opportunities and aligning internal resources to managing bids, closing deals, and overseeing post-sales performance. Success in this role requires the ability to engage C-level and high-level stakeholders, operate effectively within public procurement environments, and manage complex sales cycles that include ICT infrastructure solutions such as storage, wireless, network, Ideahub, and collaboration devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Business & Sales Management
- Drive and achieve sales, revenue, collection, and market share targets across assigned government and public sector accounts.
- Identify and qualify new opportunities across transportation, energy, healthcare, and public sector verticals.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and market insights.
- Market & Pipeline Development
- Develop, manage, and monitor the end-to-end sales pipeline — from identifying opportunities, preparing proposals and bids, to project delivery and post-sales support.
- Analyze market trends and competitive activity, and develop strategies to win new business while minimizing risks.
- Customer Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government clients, including C-level and high-ranking officials.
- Consolidate customer trust by proactively addressing needs, proposing tailored solutions, and acting as a strategic advisor.
- Maintain and grow networks within entities such as MRT Jakarta, Angkasa Pura, Bluebird Group, Transportasi Jakarta, and others.
- Project Management & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end project cycles, from opportunity identification and qualification to proposal development and project delivery.
- Coordinate internal resources (product, pre-sales, delivery teams) and external partners to ensure timely and successful project execution.
- Work closely with marketing, product, and delivery teams to align offerings with government needs and procurement procedures.
- Solution Promotion
- Promote Huawei’s full enterprise product portfolio, including:
- Switches, routers, fiber optics
- Wireless and networking solutions
- Storage, Ideahub, video conferencing & collaboration tools
- Smart office, power, or vertical-specific technologies
- Educate customers on Huawei’s value proposition and guide them through the solution selection process.

Candidate Requirements
- Education: At least Bachelor Degree, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, Business Management, or other related disciplines.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in IT or telecommunications companies, with at least 5 years in a sales-focused role managing public sector and/or state-owned enterprises.
- Industry Expertise:
- Has existing networks or past experience engaging with government clients.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with C-level and senior stakeholders within government or regulated sectors.
- Familiarity with public procurement, bidding processes, and long-cycle project operations.
- Product Expertise:
- Experience selling ICT infrastructure solutions.
- Understanding of enterprise sales cycles, government ICT planning, and solution-based selling.
- Language: English (professional fluency in spoken and written).
- Professional Qualities:
- Target-driven, with strong project ownership and sales accountability.
- Strong interpersonal and customer engagement skills; able to build trust with key government clients.
- Quick learner, team player, and able to work independently under pressure.
