Job Role
Huawei is looking for experienced Network Planning & Optimization Engineers to support ongoing mobile network delivery and performance enhancement projects in Indonesia. The engineers will operate as independent consultants, embedded within the Delivery & Service (D&S) Division.
The role is designed for candidates with strong expertise in RF planning and optimization, with a focus on GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and 5G technologies. Engineers will be based in Indonesia, working from the Jakarta Office, and assigned to be mobile, supporting various projects as individual contributors, with full responsibility for RF design, performance analysis, solution customization, and customer-facing optimization delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Radio Network Planning & Design
- Perform radio planning and dimensioning for GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and 5G networks, based on customer requirements and technical standards.
- Analyze existing network architecture, traffic forecasts, and coverage expectations to develop effective planning strategies.
- Conduct site selection, parameter definition, frequency planning, and neighbor list configuration.
- Network Optimization & Performance Tuning
- Execute network performance analysis using KPI measurements and drive test results.
- Optimize radio access network performance (coverage, quality, throughput) to meet service-level agreements and customer expectations.
- Analyze Air Interface issues, troubleshoot faults, and implement parameter tuning for improvement.
- Project Delivery
- Provide technical input for project delivery, including solution design, BoQ validation, and network rollout support.
- Customize delivery solutions based on specific customer environments and operational conditions.
- Support integration testing, acceptance procedures, and post-deployment troubleshooting.
- Technical Support
- Serve as technical interface for customers during planning, implementation, and optimization phases.
- Present solution recommendations, performance reports, and optimization strategies to customer engineering teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, delivery, and integration) to resolve issues and support delivery timelines.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure project tasks are completed on time, within scope, and in line with Huawei quality standards.
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge transfer, and lessons-learned sessions to support continuous improvement.
- Support customer satisfaction goals by ensuring reliable and stable network performance.
Candidate Requirements
- Scheme and Model: Willing to be hired under agency-based employment (PO-based contract) as a local hire in Indonesia.
- Education: At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related ICT field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in radio network planning and optimization.
- Proven expertise in GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and 5G network technologies.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of radio network architecture, cellular principles, and RF design methodologies.
- Proficient in air interface performance analysis and KPI optimization (CS, PS, VoLTE).
- Capable of using RF tools and platforms for planning, simulation, and drive test analysis.
- Language: Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
- Professional Skills:
- Experience supporting live network deployments, optimization projects, and network upgrades.
- Ability to work independently in the field and deliver against project milestones and customer KPIs.
- Willingness to travel across Indonesia for short-term and long-term project-based assignments.
