The Role

We are seeking a skilled Linux Systems Engineer to join our team in Sri Lanka. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing Linux environments, with a strong focus on disk management, virtualization, and server RAID. Knowledge of CEPH, Proxmox, and containers is highly desirable.You will work closely with the team located in London, the working hours are aligned to UK timezones (GMT and BST)

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers.
  • Manage and troubleshoot disk subsystems, including partitioning, formatting, and mounting file systems.
  • Manage virtualization environments using technologies such as KVM, VMware and Proxmox.
  • Configure and manage SAN/NAS storage, data redundancy and performance.
  • Install, configure, and maintain the Network infrastructure
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Automate tasks using scripting and/or automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Bash and/or Python.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams.
  • Document system configurations and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Linux Systems Administrator (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
  • Experience with disk management, including LVM, RAID (hardware and software), ZFS, partitioning, and file systems.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies and server configurations.
  • Strong knowledge in Firewall, routing, switches, configuration
  • Strong understanding of VLANs, VPNs
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Bash Scripting skills
  • Experience with CEPH storage solutions.
  • Knowledge of Proxmox virtualization platform.
  • Knowledge of automation tools such as Puppet or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • BGP OSPF protocols
