Job Role
The client is seeking a highly experienced Sales & Operations Manager on a senior level or Director with deep expertise in Vietnam’s bag and backpack manufacturing sector, ideally with proven experience in or similar high-performance supply chains.
You will leverage your industry relationships, market knowledge, and operational acumen to strengthen its partnerships, drive production efficiency, and ensure our Vietnam supply base delivers exceptional quality, cost competitiveness, and on-time performance in line with our sustainability and ethical sourcing standards.
In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee end-to-end sales operations, production planning, supplier performance, and key account management for both B2B and OEM channels. Working closely with global headquarters, you will align Vietnam’s manufacturing capacity with international market demand, optimize operational workflows, and maintain best-in-class supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Business Development
- Lead sales planning and forecasting for OEM, retail, and brand customers, aligning production capacity with commercial targets.
- Drive business growth through expansion of existing accounts and acquisition of new customers within Osprey’s product segment.
- Represent the company in customer meetings, international trade fairs, and strategic negotiations.
- Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management
- Oversee and optimize supplier performance across Vietnam, including benchmark partners (Vision Vina, Sambu, Pankoo, Shilla, TBS, Zenpix, Starite).
- Manage production scheduling, cost negotiation, and capacity planning to meet global demand.
- Ensure product quality compliance, timely delivery, and adherence to sustainability standards.
- Operational Excellence
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and supply chain functions to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Monitor and manage KPIs related to supplier performance, on-time delivery, and defect rates.
- Collaborate with design and R&D teams to integrate new materials, technologies, and sustainability practices into production.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Vietnam-based operations and sales teams.
- Act as the key liaison between Vietnam operations and global headquarters, ensuring alignment on targets, timelines, and product roadmaps.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and innovation.
Candidate Requirements
- Nationality: Any nationality who is resident in Ho Chi Minh City
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or a related field
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in sales and operations leadership.
- Proven experience in the bag, backpack, luggage manufacturing industry, with a strong focus on Vietnam-based supply chains.
- Proven track record of managing multi-factory production, international clients, and complex supply chain operations.
- Direct experience with high-quality branded products, preferably for global outdoor or lifestyle brands.
- Language: High proficiency English, on business and professional level English, both in spoken and written.
- Professional Skills:
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of Vietnam’s manufacturing ecosystem, including key suppliers and market benchmarks.
- Ability to manage international customer relationships while ensuring operational excellence at the factory level.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cost-management capabilities.
