Senior Manager – Project Management (One – Year Renewable Contract)

This role will help us to achieve better efficiency and unify the humanitarian and environmental outcomes for greater impact by working with the MJF Charitable Foundation & Dilmah Conservation operation teams to refine existing projects and define new projects.

Responsibilities

· Define and lead the organization’s project portfolio strategy, ensuring initiatives deliver maximum impact, align with long-term objectives, and meet financial and operational performance standards.

· Direct and influence cross-functional teams, partners, and consultants to drive seamless execution of high-value projects.

· Monitor project progress rigorously and provide timely, insightful reports to senior leadership to support informed decision-making.

· Anticipate risks, resolve critical obstacles, and make high-level decisions to balance priorities without compromising strategic outcomes.

· Strengthen the organization’s project governance by enhancing frameworks, processes, and tools for efficiency, scalability, and accountability.

· Oversee budgets and resource allocation, providing the leadership team with strategic insights on performance, risks, and long-term impact.

Ideal Candidate

· The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, including experience managing complex projects and leading teams

· The candidate should have knowledge of the issues related to humanitarian and environmental projects, including local regulations, best practices, and global trends

· The candidate should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate project goals and progress to stakeholders and team members

· The candidate should have an understanding and respect for cultural differences and be able to work effectively in diverse teams

· The candidate should be able to maintain motivation, and keep the team focused on project goals

· A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as project management, environmental science, international development, or a related field will be a definite advantage
