Role Overview
MA Café Borella is looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Barista to join our growing team. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals with a passion for coffee, food, and hospitality who want to learn the art of specialty coffee making while delivering warm, friendly service in a lively café atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior baristas in preparing high-quality espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages.
- Learn and practice espresso extraction, milk texturing, and latte art under supervision.
- Assist in food preparation, serving, and overall café operations.
- Provide excellent customer service, including taking orders accurately and engaging with guests.
- Maintain café cleanliness and follow hygiene, food safety, and health guidelines.
- Participate in training and performance reviews to develop core barista skills.
- Help with stock handling, restocking, and daily opening/closing duties.
Learning Outcomes

Qualifications & Skills
- No previous barista experience required (full training provided).

- Good communication skills (English and Sinhala/Tamil preferred).
- Ability to work in a busy café environment and collaborate with a team.
Work Conditions
- Location: MA Café, Borella.
- Full-time or part-time opportunities available.
- Weekend and holiday shifts required.
