Social Media & Community Intern
Metana

Job Role
We're looking for a Social Media & Community Intern who lives and breathes content, community, and the internet. You’ll help shape how Metana shows up across platforms and engages our fast-growing global audience. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll create content that aligns with our three content pillars:
- Storytelling – Highlighting student journeys, alumni successes, mentor spotlights, behind-the-scenes looks, and the evolution of Metana’s mission.
- Full-Funnel Engagement – Creating content tailored to different stages of the learner journey—from awareness and education to decision-making and retention.
- Partnerships & Community – Amplifying our collaborations and nurturing our vibrant community through interactive, human-first content.
What You'll Do
- Content Creation: Create scroll-stopping content ideas (posts, stories, reels, threads, etc.) for platforms like Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram & TikTok. The ability to use design tools to create the actual creatives is a big plus, but not a must.
- Community Engagement: Work alongside our Content & Community Lead to create marketing communications & social content plans for our community activations & events.
- Editorial Calendar: Assist in planning and executing a content calendar aligned with product launches, student milestones, and partner activations.
- Social Listening: Monitor trends, memes, and conversations relevant to tech, education, and Web3. Contribute to a responsive, timely content strategy.
- Analytics & Learning: Track engagement metrics and community feedback to improve strategy and content performance.
- Partnership Support: Collaborate with partners and creators to co-create campaigns and promote shared initiatives.
You Might Be a Fit If You...
- Are a strong storyteller with an eye for what resonates online.
- Love experimenting with different formats—video, memes, carousels, threads, etc.
- Understand the social media landscape and have experience managing or growing online communities.
- Are plugged into tech, startups, Web3, and/or online education.
- Are a fast learner, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
- Can work independently but love collaborating with a small, fast-moving team.
What You’ll Gain
- Real-world experience in a fast-growing startup
- Mentorship from experienced marketers and community builders
- Portfolio-worthy content and campaigns
- Flexible remote work and a culture of creativity and autonomy
- A front-row seat to the future of online education
