Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated Accounts Intern to support our finance team in daily accounting and reporting functions. The intern will gain hands-on experience in Sri Lankan accounting practices, including exposure to statutory requirements such as EPF/ETF, VAT, PAYE, and compliance procedures. This role is well-suited for undergraduates or recent graduates seeking practical training in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
· Support in processing supplier invoices, receipts, and staff reimbursements.
· Update ledgers and accounting software with timely and accurate data entries.
· Assist in preparing monthly bank reconciliations, debtor and creditor reconciliations.
· Provide support in the preparation of statutory returns (EPF/ETF, VAT, PAYE, WHT).
· Help with payroll-related documentation and reporting.
· Maintain proper filing of financial and tax-related documents.
· Assist in the preparation of management reports and schedules for audits.
· Perform any other duties assigned by the finance team.
Requirements
· Undergraduate or recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CIMA, ACCA, CA or AAT students encouraged to apply).
· Basic understanding of accounting principles and Sri Lankan tax regulations.
· Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
· Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
· Good communication and organizational skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a team environment.
· Willingness to learn and take initiative.
