Product Owner – SMB POS, mPOS & SoftPOS (SME + Complex Solutions)

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka (Hybrid)

The Role

We’re seeking a passionate Product Owner to lead our SMB Payments & POS vertical, covering traditional POS devices, mPOS, SoftPOS, and Tap-to-Phone for small and mid-sized merchants. In addition, you will drive Complex Bespoke Solutions for larger enterprise clients, designing tailored implementations built on top of our core platform. This role requires you to act as a mini-GM, balancing product vision, technology delivery, and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for POS and SMB payment solutions: roadmap, build, launch, and continuous improvement.
  • Design seamless merchant onboarding and activation flows (KYC → live in minutes).
  • Drive transaction volume (TPV), device utilization, and merchant retention.
  • Lead enterprise solution design, ensuring bespoke builds can scale into repeatable product offerings.
  • Partner with Engineering, Risk, and Sales Ops to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable solutions.
  • Build and nurture partnerships with telcos, device manufacturers, and regulators to accelerate adoption.
  • Leverage data and analytics (SQL, BI tools, dashboards) to optimize funnels and product performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–10 years of experience in fintech, POS, merchant acquiring, or enterprise payments.
  • Proven track record of shipping POS/payment hardware and software products.
  • Strong experience in balancing standardized platforms with custom enterprise builds.
  • Solid commercial acumen with exposure to P&L ownership, CAC/LTV, and business case modeling.
  • A data-driven decision maker with a strong execution mindset.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills to bridge SMB merchant needs and enterprise custom projects.

What Success Looks Like

  • Increase in active SMB merchants (MAU %).
  • Reduced onboarding time (KYC → first tap/swipe).
  • Growth in TPV per device and merchant retention.
  • Successful rollout of 1–2 bespoke enterprise solutions, converted into repeatable product packs annually.
